First, where did September go? The time just flies lately as we quickly approach the busy months ahead and I have even started preparing for the holidays with a house booked and Christmas present ideas formulating. We are starting to see some relief from the heat and humidity and October will always be my favorite month in Florida. It brings the first hint of cool air in the mornings and then beautiful sunshine and bright blue skies at the beach. Both make for perfect outdoor reading weather.
My fall reading list is not extensive, but there are some that I definitely look forward to. Mostly favorite authors, but also a few new ones too. These posts are always well received and I love when you drop some suggestions in the comments as well. Connecting with fellow readers is one of the best things about the blog world.
Happy Reading!
Bad Blood by Dana Stabenow (Kate Shugak series)
Last Seen Alone by Laura Griffin
Autopsy by Patricia Cornwell (Kay Scarpetta series)
The Heron’s Cry by Ann Cleeves (2nd in her new series)
Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty
Unlost by Gail Muller (similar to Wild)
I love reading other people's reading lists - so glad I read yours because I didn't know there was a new Kay Scarpetta. I haven't read one for ages! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI don’t think there has been one for awhile. There is a new series about bio weapons if i recall.
DeleteI didn't know Ann Cleeves has a new series. I read and enjoyed all her books with Vera Stanhope. Do you like this new series?
ReplyDeleteIt’s good , but not as good as Vera and my favorite of her’s - the Shetland series.
DeleteThank you. I've read and enjoyed the Shetland series too.
DeleteA series I've enjoyed is A Manny Rivera Mystery by Rich Curtin. I'm reading the last book of that series. Manny is a detective in Moab Utah and there is always a murder he is investigating. In January I read The Nightingale. It's an excellent book taking place in German occupied France during WWII. My father was in the British army, captured at Dunkirk, and my mom was a teenager in German occupied Belgium. So many events in the book are as my parents described their war years. I cried off and on the week it took me to read the book. I had a high interest in this book because of my family but it is a good book.
I love discovering a new detective series so thanks! Yes, The Nightingale is intense, but my favorite Kristen Hannah book is The Great Alone.
DeleteThank you for sharing your list. I am ready to cozy up with a new book. Enjoy your day dear friend. Hugs
ReplyDeleteIt’s the best reading season!
DeleteI really loved Cleeves' first Matthew Venn mystery and I'm looking forward to this one. I hope it holds up -- I don't know how she can come up with so many plots!
ReplyDeleteI really wish she would continue on with Shetland. I just loved Jimmy Perez.
