I realize that for some of us, the strict stay at home orders may be coming to an end, but it still looks like we will be advised to continue social distancing a bit more, at least until the summer months. I always find myself reaching for something to read, rather than the remote, so here is my Stay at Home/ Pre Summer list of books I want to read in the weeks ahead.
The next book I plan to download will be the latest featuring private detective, V.I. Warshawski . It’s one of my favorite series and really never disappoints after all these years (first in series published in 1982). The rest on the list are a mixture of familiar and new and as always, I hope to discover a book I get caught up in and can’t put down. I have high hopes that American Dirt might be that one. If you are a reader and book nerd like me, you know exactly what I am talking about.
Happy Reading!
Dead Land by Sara Parentsky (V.I. Warshawski series)
Camino Winds by John Grisham
American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins
Willa’s Grove by Laura Munson
The King’s Justice by Susan Elia MacNeal (a Maggie Hope Mystery)
Hi there, I need something to read:) Thanks for sharing your reading list. Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI have tried and tried to read during the past weeks but my concentration just isn't there. Instead I turn on music and knit or crochet, when I can concentrate on that. Sometimes I just do a coloring app on my iPad.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
I am DYING for the Maggie Hope. I collect and save those in paperback and it's not out in paper yet. At least, I don't think so -- it wasn't back in March. Now I'd better look again!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED American Dirt! I have got Willa's Grove downloaded and looking forward to reading it. Stay healthy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for that. I tend to resist the books with a lot of hype, but after looking closer at the reviews, I think it is worth giving a try.
DeleteLooks like a great range! This is a good time for reading a LOT!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for something new to read, I'll look a couple of your suggestions up. Thank you. Fingers crossed the easing off of your stay at home order is not too soon. We've reached a reasonable balance here, we are still allowed outside for a daily exercise, which keeps me sane.
ReplyDeleteIt will be a graduated opening and my area of Florida had never been a hot spot. My counties beaches open Monday, but just for walking and swimming. No chairs or umbrellas and parking lots are remaining closed. So just locals looking for fresh air 😀
DeleteHappy reading!
