I had a lovely visit with our newlyweds this past weekend and I miss them already. Pittsburgh is such a fun city, with so many interesting and unique neighborhoods and even though I have been there several times, we always find a new place to explore.
This visit, we enjoyed a couple of fabulous brunch spots (Sewickley and the Strip District) that also included shopping. My daughter cooked dinner one night, making a Lemon Basil Salmon that was so good. We watched the MSU basketball game and my two favorite Wolverines were good sports, when the Spartans ultimately lost to Texas Tech.
But, perhaps the two best parts were all the catching up time with my daughter and meeting their new puppy. She is a Cavapoo and sweet as can be. They are over the moon to welcome her to their life and there were lots of puppy kisses for me.
It was so good to see them and Pittsburgh too. It's always good to remember that though it seems we are far away from each other, we are really just a short plane ride away.
Happy Wednesday!
Glad you got to spend a sweet weekend with them. And, what an adorable pup.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like good fun. And yes, a lot of sadness this time but they only arrested 23 people after the game for disorderly conduct and rioting so that's a huge improvement!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a fabulous visit! What a sweet pup! Have a great week, Vicki!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you had a nice visit! I love my town too! That puppy is so cute! I love Bar Marco too!!!! HUGS Annster's Domain
ReplyDeleteThe brunch was fabulous at Bar Marco! There was another place in Sewickley that looked promising for my next visit too (can't remember the name). Also the day we were there a soup crawl was going on and every store smelled delicious!

ReplyDeleteI smiled for you all the way through this post!! It is great that you had some time with your girl and her family (new pup included)!! Pittsburgh has reinvented itself in a great way!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time together, I know you enjoyed it SO much! Have a blessed weekend dear Vicki, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI came over because I saw the title of your post on the Marmelade Gypsy. My eldest daughter married two years ago a man from Pittsburgh and had been asking me to come and visit. I’m going there next week for the first time. I’ll ask her about the restaurants you showed on your post. I’m looking forward to my visit.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun time with the added bonus of meeting the pup!
