It seems that every year I go a little more simple with my Christmas decorations. I am drawn to less red, with more neutral colors becoming the star. Still a lot of sparkle and also a lot of white lights and gold for more subtle tones. There are natural elements too, with the use of pine cones and greenery that provide a strong base for the sparkle.
As I was emptying my Christmas boxes this year and deciding what to keep and what might look good in a Florida house, it was the more neutral decor that was winning out, rather than the traditional Christmas colors. My style in Florida will be beachy and modern and I will be leaving my more traditional tastes behind. Like everything else it will take a bit of adjustment for it all to fall into place. But, I think the sparkle will stay.
Happy Tuesday!

Sparkles are good!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the traditional red and green Christmas. I like the simpler natural colors. You did good! I'm using natural greens for garland, with lots of silver and white through out the house. One of these days when Im living at the beach. Its all gonna be natural and simple.

So pretty! I like a more natural look as well. Lots of cute beachy related things you can incorporate. I love driftwood and have seen some pretty decor with that. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSome of my very best pine cones came from Florida . . .
ReplyDeleteHUGE . . . beautiful . . .
I packed them in a huge box and shipped them home to Michigan . . .
Florida sparkles will be beautiful, exciting it will be to create new . . .
Love your sparkles! Merry Merry!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I find myself doing the same thing. Less green and red, less cute, and maybe a little more sparkle.
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely! The sparkle and the neutrality. I'm still all for a pop of red around here. Probably because I like it neutral the REST of the year.
ReplyDeleteI love your Christmas decor! The natural sparkle is so pretty. I've gone for "less is more" decor in our new home and we are loving it. There are a few things I thought would work here and now realize they don't, the purge continues. I'm so excited for you to begin your new adventure! I'm hoping everything goes smoothly for you all. Merry Christmas!
