This drink looked so fun and festive for the 4th of July, which is the main reason that I originally pinned it. Then, the pin began to be repinned over and over and became one of my most popular pins. I just had to try it myself, because all those pinners couldn't be wrong!
The original recipe was for a pitcher of Sangria, but since yesterday was my birthday and I love having a birthday near the 4th of July, I decided to reconfigure the ingredients and make myself a birthday cocktail to enjoy on my patio, late in the afternoon. After a little trial and error, I think I got the recipe right.
This drink was light, fruity and really delicious. The citrus vodka is a nice addition and compliments the white wine perfectly. Whether made by the pitcher, or by using this recipe for one, this would be a festive and refreshing cocktail to serve on any hot summer day.
Red White and Blue Sangria (for one)
In a medium glass, add 3/4 cup white wine (any variety, but I used Chardonnay), 1/2 cup lemon lime Perrier, 1/2 cup cranberry juice and 1 ounce citrus vodka. Stir well. Add ice, then top with sliced strawberries and blueberries. Enjoy!
Happy Tuesday!
