When it was determined that Michigan State was going to the Rose Bowl, we immediately put our name on the alumni association tour group list. When it was obvious that only two would be able to go, it was an easy decision - my husband and daughter, who is a junior at MSU would have the trip of a lifetime.
They arrived in Los Angeles and found Spartans wherever they went. Sparty was at their hotel and the 60,000 other MSU fans were out in full force, enjoying the California sun.
The first thing they did was head to Santa Monica beach and put their feet in the ocean.
A little nighttime walk in downtown LA, to enjoy the holiday lights, after some outdoor ice skating.
Before the game, they attended the Tournament of Roses parade, with reserved grandstand seating and also had lunch at an alumni tailgate near the Rose Bowl.
Finally at the Rose Bowl - they were so excited for the game to finally start.
As the sun set on the beautiful stadium, they watched the Spartans win the 100th Rose Bowl game in dramatic fashion. It will be a trip they will never forget!
What fun!!!! WtG Spartans!!!
