Entertaining during the holidays is one of my favorite things. You can use both traditional and new recipes and serve the food on all your pretty holiday serving platters and dishes. You can show off the holiday decorations you have been working so hard to make pretty and inviting. And, you can easily bring a festive atmosphere to your home with the twinkling lights on the tree and candles burning brightly on the tables and mantel. Tonight, I am one of the hosts for my neighborhood Bunco's progressive Christmas party. My home will be the first stop of the party and I will be serving martinis and light appetizers.
This Berry Merry Martini seemed the perfect way to start our evening. Here is how you make it - 1 ounce pomegranate vodka, 1/2 ounce triple sec, 1/2 ounce peach schnapps, 1 ounce cranberry juice and 1 ounce club soda. Put all in martini shaker with ice, shake well and pour through strainer into martini glass. Garnish with lime twist. {I will make a batch of martinis ahead of time in a pitcher, to save some work when my guests arrive}
These Spiced Pecans are perfect to serve with a fruity drink, because they are salty and sweet, with a little bit of heat. The recipe can be found here and they are easy, quick and delicious. Make a batch and store to use throughout the holidays. They also make a great gift.
Have a great weekend! I will have more photos of the progressive Bunco party on Monday :-)

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo! And yes, it all sounds way too delicious. I've had those spiced pecans before and they're kinda dangerous for me to have in the house. lol

ReplyDeleteMy son makes those pecans every Christmas Eve. They are coming out of the oven as we walk in the door. So yummy and such a pretty drink to go with.
