I feel like shouting it to the rooftops, but we finally had a sunny day yesterday. It is amazing how a Monday morning doesn't seem so bad, when the sun is shining. After lunch with my parents, I decided to add a little green for St. Patrick's Day to the front porch. I like how this green color is a nice transition, from the red tones of Christmas and Valentine's, to the pastels of Easter.
We still have quite a bit of snow, but the shamrocks on this flag are a great contrast to the white ground cover.
I did a little update on a wreath I have been using for few years, by adding a burlap decorated letter to the middle. I saw this green burlap at Michaels and thought it would look interesting, rustic and somewhat unique. To make this, I simply traced the letter and used Mod Podge to adhere it to the top of the letter. I like that the edges are frayed here and there and the color stands out great against the white door.
Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteSo many have skipped over St Patrick's,I'm so glad you didn't ,I love your "green" scenes.
ReplyDeleteHappy St Patrick's Day to ya!!
Your wreath is so cute! It's nice to see the pops of green around. We are in the middle of a big snowstorm so spring seems very far off!
ReplyDeleteXO,

I like your decor! I hardly realized how fast St. Patrick's Day was coming up!
ReplyDeleteCute!! I like the burlap initial!! Thanks for sharing your wreath - I may try this because it would not be too expensive - I have no cover from the winter elements on our front door - so I am always afraid to put something that cost a lot on the door and have it ruined by snow rain or wind. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI love the bright green! What a fun idea to change things up with burlap.
ReplyDeleteI found you today thru the Linky Party at Live Laugh Rowe, where I'm #176. I hope you get a chance to stop by my blog and leave a comment, too!

A little green makes all the difference on a winter day! Wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea. I thought at first that you have made the letter from sheet moss, which might work, too. Love the burlap, though. Hope you have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!

Vicki, we are having gorgeous weather lately too. Tomorrow and Thurs. are going to be in the 60's. Ten degrees above normal. No complaining here. My snow is finally melted and yard work awaits. Adding the burlap letter really dressed the wreath up. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
