This simple, but colorful seasonal window treatment can be used to bring a touch of fall to any room. The window pictured, is in my laundry room, right off my kitchen. See this post, for a look at the cheerful, daisy garland that usually tops this window. There is wonderful morning sun that streams into this room, and I like the window to be as open as possible, but still have interest at the top.
I started with two seasonal garlands that had berries, pumpkins, acorns and leaves. I folded one garland in half, then attached the other to it, so it was thicker over the window and had a single strand hanging on the sides.
It was easily attached to the window by wrapping the wired branches around three nails; one on each side and one in the middle for support. The last step is to arrange the wired branches, so they trail naturally over the window and down the sides.
This idea could be used for any holiday or season. I will leave this up until Thanksgiving, then change it again for Christmas. Wouldn't natural branches with red berries be pretty for winter, with the snow on the ground outside?
I am slowly working towards getting my fall decorating completed - the boxes are out and I just have one other project to complete, before I put everything in its place.
Have a great Wednesday :-)
Vicki
